Yesterday at ILA 2008 – Berlin Air Show – a Messerschmitt Me-109 crash landed and went off the runway after the right landing gear collapsed during landing. No one was injured. Sadly, because of the damage, the plane will not be performing for the rest of the show. 🙁

I´ve been to ILA and saw it live. Really sadly, as German machines are known as high quality products, I was a little bit ashamed. Hopefully they´ll repair the machine as soon as possible.

landing gear problem were quite common during ww2, being mostly a design problem.
Most Me 109 lost during ww2, were lost to mecanical, design or handling problems. The G series were quite dificult to fly.
