Austrian Airlines is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an Airbus A320-214 (OE-LBP) painted in retro color scheme.
Yesterday I was browsing around through my many unreleased aviation pics. I thought this one might be interesting, so I uploaded it to Flickr. I know the quality is bad and it was raining, but anyway the subject is quite cool.
It shows the nose art of an US Air Force Rockwell (Boeing) B-1 Lancer Bomber. Hope you like it 🙂

Some of my Airbus A380 photos
Brasilian airline TAM recently introduced its new logo and corporate design.
The picture is showing one of TAM’s Airbus A320-232 wearing the new livery. Solely unique on this aircraft (PT-MZL) is a modified paint scheme, celebrating the new corporate identity with the signatures of TAM’s employees on the plane!
On 02/18/2008 Delta Air Lines flight 1877, a McDonnell Douglas MD-88 (N935DL), reported a bird strike while decent into Austin, Texas. FAA reported that an inspection after landing revealed substantial damage to the aircraft. (Report)
Today I optained several photos and a small report from a passenger on this flight. Thanks again!
The damage can be clearly seen on the pictures below. The collision with the bird caused a huge hole in the nose of the McDonnell Douglas MD-88.
Passengers report:
The bird strike felt like the front landing gear suddenly dropped – we felt a slight jolt and then the captain came on the PA and nonchalantly (to his credit) told us that we’d just hit a bird and that we’d be continuing our descent and land in about 10 minutes. The only inkling I had that it might have been a big deal was when I noticed that we landed far away from everything and two huge firetrucks raced to either side of the plane.

This is the very first MD-11F for Aeroflot Cargo, almost ready for delivery. It was previously registered to Garuda Indonesia (PK-GII) and Varig (PP-VQF). Aeroflot Cargo has acquired 8 MD-11s, to be delivered till 2009 – 5 Varig, 2 Finnair converted to freighters by Boeing and leased from Boeing Capital and 1 MD-11 from yet unknown source.
The Boeing production line is full for the 787 Dreamliner, as work continues on the first flight-test airplane and two airplanes to be used for static and fatigue testing.
These photos shows Airplane #1 in the third position, where final structure and systems installations are completed. Behind it, the static-test airplane is in the second position, where it will receive landing gear, engines, and any required interior installations. The fatigue airplane entered final body join Nov. 30
