Asiana Airlines has ordered two additional Boeing 777-200ER (Extended Range) jetliners. The order is valued at $438 million at list prices.
The two new airplanes will join Asiana’s current 777-200ER fleet of nine airplanes. Asiana operates 40 Boeing aircraft in total, and has two 777-200ERs from previous orders that have yet to be delivered.
Asiana’s first 777-200ER order was placed in 1996 and the airline received its first airplane on lease in Feb. 2001.
The South Korean airline holds rights to substitute the larger 777-300ER which features increased payload and range capability, if needed, in the future.
